Ever interesting Tycho

Exposed 16 May 2011 at 03:08:08 UT through a red filter. The high sun angle emphasizes  ejecta rays.

Note bright, prominent Tycho with Clavius to the south.












This is a reconstruction of Tycho from above (LTVT). Note prominent, close in, light ray pattern and circle of dark ejecta just outside of crater rim and dark lava on the crater floor.
