Ptolemaeus

Ptolemaeus walled plain and the included Ammonius made 10 June 2011 at 04:18:33 UT. Image made with 12.5" Obsession, Basler acA1300 with IR filter and 4X Powermate. I used the best 250 out of 1000 frames.

This is part of my first series of images using this camera at full resolution (1296 x 966) pixels. This camera connects to my laptop with a GigE card and can handle this data flow fairly well with 8 bit images but struggles with 16 bit images. Anything to do other than buy a faster laptop?

To my eye Ptolemaeus looks more circular as photographed (above) than after being rectified using LTVT (below), testifying to its irregularity. The upper portion of this image just catches the southern end of the crater-row called, from its discoverer, "Webb's furrow."
